Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Samih Al-Hefny, is monitoring flight operations around the clock amid regional developments that have led several neighbouring countries to close parts of their airspace. The ministry is coordinating through the Civil Aviation Authority’s Central Operations Room, the Cairo Air Navigation Center (CANC), the Crisis Room at Cairo International Airport, EgyptAir’s Integrated Operations Center (IOCC), the Integrated Operations Center of the Egyptian Airports Company, and all relevant authorities.
The minister has ordered maximum readiness at Cairo International Airport and all Egyptian airports to accommodate aircraft that may need to reroute and land in Egypt due to the regional situation. Flight movements are being tracked continuously, with operational decisions taken to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency, while providing necessary facilities and comfort for passengers affected by flight disruptions.
The ministry confirmed that Egyptian airspace is fully operational and ready to handle any potential flight diversions, adhering strictly to international civil aviation safety and security standards. Coordination continues with civil aviation authorities in affected countries to manage developments according to approved procedures, maintaining smooth and safe air traffic within Egyptian airspace.
The ministry is closely monitoring the situation and will issue official updates as developments occur. Passengers are urged to check their bookings with airlines to confirm the status of their flights and any changes.
