Egypt receives 11mln tourists during 9 months

Egypt received 11 million tourists in the first nine months of 2023, marking a 20 percent increase, Amr El Kady, CEO of Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion told Asharq Business on Wednesday.

Despite recent tension in the region, the initial indicators of international tourism flows to Egypt during last October show a 10 percent growth in tourist numbers over the same period last year, Al-Qadi added.

The Israel’s war on the Palestinian Gaza Strip will constitute only cancellations to some trips to Sinai, Azza Abbas, head of the Egyptian Association for Tourism and Friendship among Nations.
