Egypt announced on Tuesday about the existence of second monkeypox case from an Arab citizen who came from abroad to the country on Sunday.
Egyptian Ministry of Health has isolated the patient in one of its hospitals and all preventive and medical measures were taken for the patient and his contacts, following the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The ministry has affirmed that the patient’s general condition is stable as well as he is receiving the necessary medical care.
Moreover, the ministry said that its medical teams were able to monitor a case of monkeypox infection of a citizen from one of the Arab countries coming from abroad, according to its statement.
Earlier in September, the ministry had detected the first infection with monkeypox virus for one of its citizens coming from a European country.
