Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel Atty emphasised the country’s dedication to bolstering strategic partnerships with African nations and supporting sustainable development through trade and investments, as per a Cabinet statement.
These statements were made during a series of bilateral meetings held on the sidelines of the Executive Council meetings of the African Union in Addis Ababa on Wednesday, 12 February 2025.
He highlighted Egypt’s initiatives to enhance cooperation in infrastructure, health, education, and capacity-building, as well as its pivotal role in post-conflict reconstruction and development efforts.
The minister also underscored the importance of unifying African positions within international organisations to address ongoing political and security challenges, as per the statement.
The meetings included discussions with foreign ministers from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, and Gambia, as well as representatives from Eswatini and Burundi, according to the ministry’s statement.
