Egypt says security officers at Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation test negative for coronavirus
Egyptian health authorities on Thursday said three security officers at Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation suspected of carrying the coronavirus have tested negative for the pandemic.
Egypt’s prominent non-profit Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation announced earlier it had detected four cases, including three security staff members and a patient’s mother at its heart surgery centre in Aswan, south of Cairo.
The foundation said it had immediately notified the health ministry to take necessary procedures.
The hospital has taken all necessary safety measures following the detection of the cases, including isolating the areas where they were present and sterilising the facility, it said in a statement.
The hospital is also undertaking the necessary periodic tests for all medical staff, patients, employees, and visitors in coordination with the Egyptian health ministry, the foundation added.
