Egypt Shares Gain EGP4 bln, Benchmark Surges to 5245 at Close

Egypt’s stocks closed higher on Monday posting gains totaled EGP 4 billion. The main gauge has ended above 5245 pts.

The Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering in green notes during the closing session of Monday.

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 climbed by 1.14% to close at 5245.13 pts; while the EGX20 surged by 1.11% to end at 6090.18 p. 
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 pushed up by 1.48% to conclude at 450.09 p. The price index EGX100 increased by 1.30% to finish at 757.13 p.
The capital market has closed at EGP 356.965 billion on Monday.

Higher Traded Volumes & Trades
Through the closing session of Monday, the trading volume has reached 88.732 million securities. For the traded value, it hit EGP 370.650 million, exchanged through 17.425 thousand transactions.   

Also during the closing session, 164 listed securities have been traded in; 29 declined, 98 advanced; while 37 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activity

The non-Arab foreigners’ buying transactions backed EGX’s gains for they were net buyers seizing 18.49% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 25.116 million, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 78.83% and 2.68% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 23.113 million and EGP 2.002 million, excluding the deals.
