Egypt’s Minister of Military Production, Mohamed Salah El Din Moustafa met on Tuesday with Singaporean Ambassador to Cairo, Dominic Goh to explore potential collaborations between Egyptian military production companies and their Singaporean counterparts across various manufacturing sectors.
During the meeting, Minister Moustafa highlighted the advanced manufacturing, technological, and human resource capabilities of Egypt’s military production units, which are central to the country’s defence industry. He emphasised that these companies play a vital role in the national economy by utilising surplus production capacity to support key national and developmental projects.
The Egyptian ministry oversees 15 industrial companies and four specialised firms operating in sectors such as IT, construction, maintenance, research, training, medical services, as well as ammunition and weapons testing, and an advanced engineering academy, Minister Moustafa noted.
On the economic front, the minister acknowledged the recent growth in Singaporean investments in Egypt, which has positioned Singapore as the fifth-largest Asian investor in the country. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to fostering foreign investment and showcasing the abundant opportunities within its market.
Minister Moustafa expressed a strong interest in developing joint ventures with Singaporean companies in both military and civilian manufacturing fields, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
