Egypt to establish 6 marine ambulance boats in Red Sea, South Sinai
Egypt plans to manufacture six marine ambulance boats to operate on its coasts in the Red Sea and South Sinai governorates, Prime Minister announced on Wednesday.
Madbouly permitted to the Ambulance Authority to contract the Suez Canal Authority for working on six marine ambulance boats to serve the tourism sector, cruises, fishing trips and various marine activities.
These boats will include medical equipment, infection control equipment and first aid, according to officials of diving and marine activities sector in the Red Sea statement.
Two marine ambulance centres are planned to be established, serving the north and south of Hurghada, and two other centres in the north and south of Marsa Alam.
The marine ambulance service is a quick response service and offers emergency ambulance services to treat those injured and drowned in diving accidents. It will treat them where it happened and take care of them, and then transfer them to the hospital if needed, Ayman Taher, a diving consultant, and environmental expert, said.
