Egypt to fix egg prices at EGP150 per tray
Egyptian government on Wednesday announced a new initiative to stabilise egg prices at 150 Egyptian pounds per tray at government outlets.
This decision follows high-level discussions with poultry producers to ensure affordable prices and support local production amid efforts to reduce citizens’ economic burdens.
The initiative aligns with the state’s broader goals of food security and economic reform. The ministers emphasised the importance of balancing fair pricing with producer profitability and reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the local poultry industry while rejecting requests to import eggs from abroad.
