Egypt, UAE’s Space42 explore tech partnership in civil aviation

Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hafny held talks with a delegation from Abu Dhabi-based Space42 to explore cooperation in digital transformation and smart airport technologies, the Cabinet said in a statement on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on enhancing airport infrastructure through artificial intelligence and satellite technologies to boost operational efficiency and airspace monitoring.

The Space42 team showcased the GIX platform’s capabilities in geospatial data analysis and satellite communications, aimed at improving connectivity for airports and aircraft operating in remote areas.

Talks also covered potential collaboration in air traffic control and aviation communication systems, leveraging Space42’s experience in digital platform development.

Minister El-Hafny welcomed the company’s advanced technological offerings and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to integrating smart systems to modernise Egypt’s civil aviation sector and align with global standards.
