The spokesmen for the Egyptian presidency and the cabinet quit on Tuesday, in the latest in a string of resignations from President Mohammed Morsi administration.
Presidential spokesmen Omar Amer and Ehab Fahmy stepped down, according to Al Arabiya correspondents, as well as cabinet spokesman Alaa al-Hadidi, who had told the official MENA news agency he had also given his notice to Prime Minister Hisham Kandil.
The resignations come as Morsi faces massive public pressure to step down.
On Monday, six cabinet ministers quit and the military gave the president a 48-hour ultimatum to work out his differences with the opposition or it will intervene and oversee the implementation of its own political road map.
The ultimatum expires Wednesday.
