Egyptian Minister of Defence Sedki Sobhi met Saturday with his Canadian counterpart Harjit Sajjan, the army spokesperson said in a statement on his Facebook page.
Both ministers discussed Egypt’s efforts in fighting terrorism as well as strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
Canada is a member of the US-led coalition established in September 2014 to fight the ISIS (Islamic State in Syria and Iraq) militant group.
Egypt is a member of the Saudi-led coalition established last week, including more than 30 countries, that aims to fight “all extremists and terrorist organisations.”
