Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil on Friday said that Egyptian exports to China increased last year by 60 percent hitting US$ 408 million compared to US$255 million the previous year.
This was according to a report that was received by the minister on the trade exchange between the two countries.
on the other hand, Egyptian imports from China went down last year to 9.5 billion dollars compared to 10.4 billion dollars in the previous year, according to the report.
The decline in imports from china has lead to a deficit in the trade balance between both countries of 10.3 percent.
Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Antar said that the efforts of Egypt’s commercial service in Beijing have helped boost Egyptian exports.
