Egypt’s exports to the European Union markets have attained around US$ 4.7 billion during the period from January to July 2013, to register an increase of 15% approximately in return for data released during the same period a year ago.
Italy has managed to be at the top of the list of the EU member countries importing Egyptian products. Italy has imported Egyptian products worth US$ 770 million; while the UK has come second, France was third, and Germany ended fourth.
Egypt’s exports to the EU markets have concentrated in the agricultural crops, mainly citrus, along with the ready-made clothes, chemicals, fertilizers, and textile.
