Egypt’s bourse opened significantly higher on Tuesday with gains amounting to 4 billion pounds bolstered by foreign buying appetite at early trading. The country’s main index was also bullish at open to cross 7705 points.
The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during the opening session.
Indices
The Benchmark EGX30 climbed by 1.71% to 7706.93 p; while EGX20 surged by 1.73% to 9122.4 p.
Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched up by 1.01% to 657.85 p. Price index EGX100 grew by 1.01% to 1116.38 p.
Furthermore, market capitalization reached EGP 476.994 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:24 a.m. Cairo time (09:24 GMT).
Turnovers & Trading Volumes
The trading volume has recorded 92.194 million securities, with turnovers reached EGP 267.485 million, exchanged through 7380 transactions during Tuesday opening.
Also during the opening session, 148 listed securities have been traded in; 9 fell, 117 advanced; while 22 keeping their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
The non-Arab foreigner investors were net buyers acquiring 3.59% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 11.127 million, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers on Tuesday seizing 84.39% and 12.02% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 7.391 million and EGP 3.735 million respectively, excluding the deals.
