The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) announced on Sunday that it has hired Fayez Al-Daba’ani as the new president of the authority. Al-Daba’ani is set to succeed Mokhtar Tawfiq after he reaches retirement age.
Al-Daba’ani held many positions and leadership positions in the tax authority, such as examination officer at the Shubra Al-Khaimah Tax Authority in 1991. He was also an inspector at the General Administration for Combating Tax Evasion in 1996.
He then became the director of the technical office of the head of the ETA in 1996. In 2010, he became the Director General of the General Department of Technical Studies in the Authority.
Al-Daba’ani’s recent role has been Head of the Central Administration for Tax Centre Affairs since mid-2022.
