Egyptian taxi-hailing startup Ousta announced receiving more than 500,000 ride requests claiming to have a 30 percent weekly growth rate.
With investments nearing 20 million Egyptian pounds (around $1.2 million), Ousta is operating in 11 cities nationwidesince launching in the Egyptian ride-sharing market.
Nader El Batrawy, CEO and founder of Ousta said that the application has managed to attract more clients to reach 300,000 in addition to 10,000 drivers.
He asserted that ride-hailing business in Egypt will be expanding dynamically boosted by the huge development of the ICT tools. This will lead to creating a lot of job opportunities for youths and more updated services for clients to enjoy.
Omar Salah, co-founder and executive manager of Ousta, said that the company is a 100 percent owned by Egyptian shareholders, led by 50 of the most qualified workforce to ensure delivering the most modern services to clients and keep up with Ousta’s other rivals. “
He added that Ousta drivers undergo a very strict qualifying test to get enrolled. Moreover, the application provides its rid-hailing services at very affordable prices and never have price surging in the so called ‘peak time’.
