Egypt’s 100 Days of Health Campaign delivers 73m free services in 49 days: ministry 

Egypt’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday it has provided more than 73 million free medical services in less than two months as part of its nationwide 100 Days of Health Campaign aimed at improving access to healthcare.

Launched on July 15, the third edition of the campaign has so far delivered 73.154 million services over 49 days, ranging from primary care and preventive medicine to surgeries and mental health support, the ministry said in a statement.

On Monday alone, the initiative offered 1.468 million services, according to ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, who said 12 different sectors are contributing to the drive.

The services included:

  • 339,570 through the Primary Healthcare Sector

  • 447,360 via the Curative Care Sector

  • 123,202 under Presidential Public Health Initiatives

  • 50,219 through the Preventive Medicine Sector

  • 78,249 from Teaching Hospitals and Institutes

  • 9,468 under the Your Health is Happiness mental health initiative

  • 213,757 via General Authority for Health Insurance hospitals

  • 5,270 by the Ambulance Authority

  • 98,974 from Specialised Medical Centres Secretariat hospitals

  • 3,332 surgeries under the waiting list reduction programme

  • 15,151 through Therapeutic Institution hospitals

The campaign also reached more than 84,000 people with health awareness and education activities, delivered by community outreach teams in public areas, sports clubs and shopping centres.

Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said the programme underscores Egypt’s efforts to boost national health initiatives, strengthen the medical system and move closer towards universal health coverage.
