Egypt’s Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) launched on Thursday a production line for cooking range safety valves at one if its subsidiaries, the Arab British for Dynamic Industries (ABD), to meet local demand and increase exports to Arab and African markets.
The first production line of its kind in Egypt has an initial annual capacity of one million valves, with plans to expand to five million units within three years, according to the cabinet statement.
This strategic move aligns with Egypt’s 2030 sustainable development vision, aiming to bolster local manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports, as part of Made in Egypt initiative.
ABD has reached 100 per cent local content in valve manufacturing to meet the increasing demand for safe gas stoves in Egypt.
Meanwhile, AOI also produces valves for traditional cooking stoves and chlorine cylinders for water treatment plants.
The production and supply of 25 million conventional and chlorine cylinder valves have been completed. Additionally, 100 thousand safe gas valves are currently in production.
