Egypt’s c. bank auctions EGP 15b fixed coupon T-bonds

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is auctioning on Tuesday 15 billion Egyptian pounds worth of fixed coupon treasury bonds (T-bonds), in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.

The two-year T-bond is valued at five billion pound to be matured on October 01, 2026 at coupon rate 25.072 per cent.

The second auction is for a three-year T-bond valued at 10 billion pound and will be matured on October 01, 2027 at coupon rate 24.458 per cent.

A coupon is an annual interest paid on a bond. Investors receive a coupon payment, either annually or biannually, from issuance until maturity, if they hold the bond, as explained by DailyForex website.
