Egypt’s central bank receives wide praise for hosting AfDB Annual Meetings 2023

Egypt’s central bank (CBE) has received a wide praise for hosting Africa Development Bank’s (AfDB) Annual Meetings 2023, which is taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh on May 22-26.

Akinwumi Adesina, AfDB’s president, has expressed his appreciation to the CBE for its sincere and impressive efforts to host the annual meetings.

Azali Assoumani, president of the Comoros and chairperson of the African Union, has also thanked the CBE and the Egyptian government for hosting the AfDB meetings and for the great welcome.

The annual meeting’s media luncheon has witnessed an incredible turnout and engaging discussions.

This is the third time for Egypt to host AfDB’s Annual Meetings. The last time was in 1999. Egypt is also AfDB’s third largest shareholder and one of the largest beneficiaries in terms of operations.
