Egypt’s exports to non-member blocs reach $17.4b in ’23

Egypt’s exports to international blocs in which it is not a member fell by 28.7 per cent in 2023, reaching $17.4 billion compared to $24.4 billion in 2022.

The European Union (EU) remained the top destination for Egyptian exports, receiving Egyptian exports worth $13.1 billion in 2023, a 31.3 per cent decrease from $19.0 billion in 2022

Egypt’s exports to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region declined by 24.0 per cent to $2.5 billion in 2023 from $3.3 billion in 2022.

While, exports to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) surged 196.7 per cent to $482.1 million in 2023 from $162.5 million in 2022.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s total imports from these blocs fell by 12.9 per cent to $36.6 billion in 2023 from $42.0 billion in 2022.

Egypt’s imports from the EU decreased by 8.1 per cent to $21.2 billion in 2023 from $23.1 billion in 2022. Imports from NAFTA shrunk 19.9 per cent to $6.0 billion in 2023 from $7.5 billion in 2022.

EFTA’s exports to Egypt declined by 6.6 per cent to $1.25 billion in 2023 from $1.35 billion in 2022.
