Egypt’s external debt declined by $2 billion in Q4 – CBE
Egypt’s external debt has declined by $2 billion to record $155.708 billion at the end of June, compared to $157.801 billion at March 2022, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) reported on Tuesday.
CBE’s added that long-term external debt recorded $129.089 billion, while the short-term debts reached $26.619 billion.
The external debt owned by the government amounted $82.275 billion at the end of June 2022, compared to $83.171 billion by March 2022.
CBE’s external debts volume amounted about $40.881billion, compared to $41.861billion, recording a decrease of $980 million, the report added.
While debt balances on banks recorded $17.714 billion, compared to $17.425 billion at the end of March 2022.
