Egypt’s external debt decreased by about $4.1 billion, or 2.5 per cent, to $160.6 billion in the July-March of the 2023/2024 fiscal year, compared to the end of June 2023, according to central bank’s latest report.
Long-term debts by original maturity accounted for $ 135.3 billion, whereas short-term debt recorded $ 25.3 billion. In terms of residual maturity, short-term debt amounted to about $54.3 billion, and long-term debt reached $106.3 billion.
