Egypt’s exports to the European Union rose 8.6 percent year-on-year during the first six months of the current year, Mubasher reported on Friday.
First half Egyptian exports to the EU stood at EUR 4.6 billion ($5 billion) from EUR 4.26 billion during the same half in 2018, according to data released by the Egyptian Commercial Service
The North African country’s imports from the EU surged 15 percent to EUR 9.6 billion against EUR 8.3 billion the year before.
From January to the end of June, bilateral trade between Egypt and the EU increased by 13 percent year-on-year to EUR 14.2 billion.
