Egypt’s food exports reached 175,000 tons in the week ending July 12, encompassing a diverse range of over 485 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables alongside processed food items.
Fresh onions topped the list of exported Egyptian vegetables with 20,000 tons, followed by potatoes with 15,000 tons, and various types of beans with 12,000 tons. In total, 66 varieties of vegetables were exported, amounting to 50,000 tons.
Citrus fruits continued to dominate the list of exported fruits last week with 20,000 tons, followed by grapes with 11,000 tons, and strawberries with 10,000 tons. A total of 65 varieties of fruits were exported, reaching 45,000 tons.
Egypt’s food exports cater to a diverse international market. Last week, shipments reached 170 countries, with Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Libya, and Russia emerging as the top destinations.
