Egypt’s fuel imports reached 105,786 million Egyptian Pounds in 2020 up from 87,867 million pounds in 2015, CAPMAS reported.
Meanwhile, imports of raw materials witnessed an increase to 144,099 Egyptian pounds in 2020, up from 46,701 million pounds in 2015, and down from 147,215 pounds in 2019, according to the report.
The report also showed that imports of durable goods reported 99,559 million pounds in 2020, against 105,398 million Egyptian pounds in 2019 and 108,462 million Egyptian pounds in 2018.
Egypt’s imports of electrical power fell to zero from two million Egyptian pounds in 2015, while the country started exporting about 747,000 MWh of electricity during fiscal year 2015/2016, according to the same report.
