Interim President Adly Mansour on Monday presented former prime minister Hazem El-Beblawi with a medal to honour his efforts.
El-Beblawi met with Mansour at the Ittihadiya presidential palace on Monday to receive the medal, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
El-Beblawi had announced in February that he and his cabinet were resigning.
Following a 15-minute meeting with the cabinet, El-Beblawi said that “reform cannot take place through the government alone,” adding that all Egyptians should strive to achieve the change they aspire to.
A prominent economist and politician, El-Beblawi was named prime minister last July following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi and his prime minister Hisham Qandil after mass protests.
He was replaced by Ibrahim Mahlab, who had been housing minister in El-Beblawi’s cabinet.
