Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met Wednesday with Mohamed Alabbar – Chairman of Emaar Properties – on the sidelines of the Dubai Government Summit. The meeting was also in the presence of the Egyptian ministers of Communication, Social Solidarity and Investment.
Under the title “Shaping Future Governments”, third Government Summit, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, from 9 to 11 February, was attended by representatives of 87 countries, and high-profile speakers, including United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
During the meeting, the two parties have tackled Egypt’s upcoming Economic Summit scheduled for next March in Sharm El Sheikh, in which Alabbar will be one of the main speakers in the event.
The Emirati businessman praised the investment climate in Egypt, announcing that new major investments in one of Egypt’s key national projects will be discussed soon with the Egyptian government. He also noted that investments in the Technology villages in Egypt are also being studied currently.
Moreover, the Egyptian prime minister welcomed Emaar Company’s new investments from and its successful accomplishments in Egypt, as being one of the prior companies in the region. He added that the government is working on many axes to enhance the investment climate in Egypt whether by making either the legislative or administrative reforms in addition to solving the investors’ problems.
