EGP42 million Grants approved for Civil Societies in Egypt in January

Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity had approved in January grants and cash donations worth EGP 42 million to 42 civil societies in 11 governorates, minister Ghada Wali said on Wednesday.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the minister stated that the total amount of grants in January reached 60 offered by 41 donors, affirming that Cairo governorate was on the top of governorates benefitted from the grants followed by Aswan and Giza.

Wali affirmed that the approval comes within in the framework of the ministry’s support to the civil societies as being a partner in the social development process. Those grants have been designated to enable civil societies to execute several important social projects that care about society and its different categories.

The projects aim to develop youth’s capabilities through awareness programmes and employment projects in addition to provide the good care for citizens with special needs.

The projects also target implementing literacy projects, providing health services for number of unprivileged and marginalized areas.

Moreover, it also seeks to establish a number of projects to support youth socially and economically as well as supporting women rights.
