Egypt’s PM names Hashem El-Sayed Hashem to lead SOE restructuring efforts
Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has appointed Hashem El-Sayed Hashem as Chief Executive Officer of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Unit at the Cabinet, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hashem will also serve as Assistant to the Prime Minister, with a four-year term renewable once, according to the statement.
The appointment comes as Egypt continues efforts to restructure and improve the governance of its state-owned firms under a wider programme to boost private sector participation in the economy.
