Egypt’s National Energy Control Center (NECC) reported a notable decrease in power loads due to recent temperature drops. On Friday, the peak load was 35,700 megawatts, while on Saturday, it rose slightly to 36,500 megawatts. This is a significant reduction from the year’s highest peak load of 38,000 megawatts.
This reduction in peak load results in substantial fuel savings. For every 1,000 megawatts decrease in peak load, fuel consumption drops by an estimated 127 million Egyptian pounds.
Moreover, continuous monitoring and adjustments to these load changes are crucial for maintaining the stability and efficiency of the national electricity grid.
