Egypt’s ready-made garments exports to Germany hit $144 mln in 2018

Egypt’s ready-made garments exports to Germany recorded around $144 million during 2018, the Egyptian Textiles Export Council (TEC) said on Wednesday.

“Germany is one of the key markets whereby Egypt seeks to increase its exports of ready-made garments there within the upcoming period,” TEC said in a statement.

Germany imported $40 billion worth of ready-made garments last year, out of which Egypt’s share did not exceed 0.3 percent, the council added.

The council organised yesterday bilateral meetings with officials representing eight major trademarks in Germany to discuss means of cooperation to boost the Egyptian ready-made garments exports to the German market.
