Egypt’s Sisi, Somali president discuss counterterrorism cooperation

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s government and national army in combating terrorism in all its dimensions, including ideological, social, developmental, and security aspects.

In a phone call with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President Sisi emphasised Egypt’s keenness to continue joint efforts to explore broader avenues of cooperation across various sectors, highlighting the strong fraternal ties and shared interests between the two nations.

For his part, President Mohamud expressed gratitude for Egypt’s support, commending its role in assisting Somalia. He affirmed his country’s commitment to working closely with Egypt in different fields to achieve stability and prosperity for both peoples.
