Egypt’s stocks plunge on Wednesday, benchmark EGX 30 tumbles 0.68%
Egypt stock market cap losses EGP 9.6 billion
Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes ended lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index dropping 0.68 percent to 11,393 points.
The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) dived 4.47 percent to 2,191 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped edged down 1.06 percent to 13,933 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 also sank 3.68 percent to 3,203 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 decreased 3.33 percent to 2,239 points.

Total market capitalisation has on Tuesday incurred losses worth 9.6 billion Egyptian pounds ($612.7 million) to close at 690.842 billion pounds.
