Egypt’s Tarek Amer named one of top 10 best central bank governors: Global Finance
Global Finance Magazine has named Egyptian Central Bank Governor Tarek Amer as one of the Top Ten Central Banks’ Governors in the World for 2021, awarding him an “A” grade.
In its Central Banker Report Cards 2021, the magazine has awarded the top ten central bank governors “A” or “A-” grades.
Global Finance’s top 10 list includes central banks’ governors of Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, the European Union, Kuwait, and Morocco.
The magazine’s full report and grade list will be published in its October print and appeared in its digital editions online at GFMag.com.
The Central Banker Report Cards has been published annually by Global Finance since 1994, grading the central bank governors of 101 key countries and territories, including the European Union (EU), the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States, and the Central Bank of West African States.
Grades are based on an “A” to “F” scale for success in areas, including inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability, and interest rate management.
An “A” grade represents an excellent performance while an “F” stands for outright failure.
“With the pandemic still surging in many areas, and inflation emerging as a major area of concern once again, the world’s central bankers are confronting multiple challenges from multiple directions,” Global Finance’s Publisher and Editorial Director, Joseph Giarraputo, said in a statement released earlier this month.
“Global Finance’s annual Central Banker Report Cards show which financial policy leaders are succeeding in the face of adversity and which are falling behind.”
