Egypt’s Town Gas expands cooperation with Romania in natural gas distribution

Egypt’s Town Gas has strengthened its international presence by renewing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Romania, enabling the company to continue supplying natural gas to residential areas in the European country.

The agreement came on Tuesday, during discussions between Town Gas Chairman Mohamed Fathy and representatives from foreign companies in the natural gas and distribution sectors, on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025). The discussions focused on expanding cooperation and reviewing the progress of major agreements.

The Romanian side reaffirmed its commitment to exploring further investment opportunities in Egypt, highlighting confidence in the country’s technical expertise and skilled workforce.

Notably, Town Gas had previously secured contracts to implement local manufacturing projects for natural gas pressure reduction stations in Egypt and extend gas supply services to residential and commercial facilities in Romania.

The company, under Egypt’s petroleum sector, has been accredited by the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) as a contractor for natural gas distribution projects, making it the first Egyptian firm to operate in this field within Europe.
