Egypt’s workers emergency fund has recently disbursed three payments to workers in the tourism sector at hotels in Taba, Nuweiba, and Dahab for the months of May, June, and July 2024. The total amount allocated was 10 million, 962 thousand, and 591 pounds, benefiting 2,550 workers at these hotels.
Since its inception in 2002, the fund has provided significant financial support, totalling 2,225,100,000 pound to 423,971 workers across 3,986 establishments. The fund aims to cover wages for workers in businesses facing emergency challenges, helping them navigate through crises and ensuring their continued employment.
This initiative is in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to protect and support workers.
