EIB: Egypt has made recent greet progress in green projects
Egypt has made significant achievements in green energy projects over the past years, said Debora Revoltella, Director of the Economics Department of the European Investment Bank (EIB), on Saturday.
Speaking to the Egyptian state news agency MENA, Revoltella said the government has serious plans to develop sources of green energy such as green hydrogen as well as wind and solar energy.
Such policies adopted by Egypt will be enhanced over the long and medium terms as Egypt has recently launched the National Strategy for Climate Change 2050 to prioritise climate and environment issues, she added.
The EIB is keen to fund green energy projects in Egypt, Revoltella stated, adding that the bank has invested €59 billion ($57.2 billion) in 52 African countries since 1965, she said.
