Data updating employees at National bank of Egypt (NBE) threatened that they will hold an open-ended sit-in on Sunday in front of the headquarter of the Bank if their demands are not responded to.
The protestors are about 40 employees out of 154 employees whose contracts were terminated after working for the Bank for two years because they did not pass the exams of the Bank.
Some of the protestors are seen setting up tents in front of the NBE’s headquarter to hold a sit-in as they demand to get their jobs back.
Employees said that they demonstrated many times at the Cabinet who sent 3 letters to Tarek Amer, chairman of NBE, asking him to return the fired employees, but he ignored these letters.
Employees added that Tarek Amer did not fulfill his promise to them as he said at the beginning of last February that there will be other exams for them.
