Energy can serve as unifier, bridge for stability: AU official at EGYPS

Amani Abou Zeid, the African Union Commissioner said on Monday that not only gas can serve as a regional, continental, and over continental unifier, but also energy can help as a political bridge for stability.

Abou Zeid made her remarks during Egypt Petroleum Show – EGYPS 2023 in Cairo, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The AU official along with Egypt’s Oil Minister Tarek al-Molla and EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson talked about the possibility of establishing an African energy forum initiative like the case with the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), which serves Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, and Palestine.
