EU grants €53m to Denmark for climate-smart dairy farming
The European Union (EU) has approved a Danish scheme with a budget of approximately €53 million (DKK 395.6 million) to support climate-friendly dairy production.
The initiative aims to help livestock farmers reduce methane emissions, contributing to Denmark’s national greenhouse gas reduction targets for the agricultural and forestry sectors.
Running until December 31, 2027, the scheme will provide direct grants covering up to 100 per cent of eligible costs for dairy farmers implementing climate-friendly practices.
Additional aid will be available for those exceeding mandatory emission reduction standards.
