European Union (EU) member states have stressed that aircraft in the Union would have to be fuelled in a more environmentally friendly way from 2025 under a new law, CNBC Arabic reported on Monday.
European Union member states announced that there would be a quota on the amount of so-called sustainable aviation fuel to be mixed with conventional fuel. It officially approved a compromise previously reached with the European Parliament.
This aligns with EU’s far-reaching ambitions to tackle climate change, which aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the EU by at least 55 percent by 2030, the report added.
