Egypt’s electronic payment provider, Fawry is expecting to activate the electronic payment service, Mobile Wallet with Banque Misr and QNB Al-Ahli next March, managing director Mohamed Okasha announced Monday.
Fawry has already signed mobile payment solution contracts with 11 banks and activated the service with three banks; the National Bank of Egypt, Commercial International Bank, and AlexBank, Okasha said.
“We are seeking to activate these services with Banque Misr and QNB Al-Ahli within next month, and with the six remaining banks in the coming period successively.” Fawry’s official added.
The mobile payment wallet is available to banked and unbanked customers across Egypt, who can use the service to send money, pay phone bills, load credit to prepaid phones, make donations and reserve airline tickets among the wide range of services offered by Fawry.
Fawry provides its services through 60,000 payment points and around 7,000 ATMs, Okasha said.
