Finland’s wage earnings rise in Q2 ’24

Finland’s wage earnings saw a significant boost in the second quarter of 2024, with the index of wage and salary earnings rising by 3.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2023. This rise reflects a substantial increase in nominal earnings for full-time wage and salary earners.

Additionally, real earnings experienced a 1.9 per cent increase over the same period.

This growth in real earnings indicates that the rise in wages outpaced the increase in consumer prices, thereby improving the purchasing power of workers.

The data highlights a favourable shift in earnings growth relative to inflation in Finland.
