Gwynedd raises £30K donations for Turkey-Syria’s quake aftermath

A community in Bethesda, Gwynedd rallied to raise donations worth £30,000 for the affected people in Turkey and Syria following the devastating earthquake, BBC reported on Sunday.

A Turkish family, who own a kebab shop, began collecting donations, and were amazed by the local response. The community will be holding a charity concert to raise funds for the donation.

“We decided to donate all the money we had made in a day from both shops and send to Turkey, and the staff who worked with us also donated their wages,” said Fadime Sanli, a member of the Turkish family.

The local community have been showing their support with the family collecting over £3,000 from staff, customers and friends for the donation, added Sanli.
