InstaPay to introduce transaction fees starting April 1

The Instant Payment Network has announced on Tuesday the introduction of transaction fees for its InstaPay services, effective April 1, 2025.
The move aims to enhance service quality, support digital infrastructure development, and ensure long-term sustainability.

Under the new structure, transfer fees will be 0.1 per cent of the transaction amount, with a minimum charge of 50 piasters and a maximum of 20 Egyptian pounds per transaction. Users will still enjoy 10 free balance inquiries per month, after which a fee of 50 piasters per inquiry will apply.

Since its launch in April 2022, InstaPay has seen rapid adoption, offering free money transfers and balance inquiries for three years. By the end of 2024, the app had reached 12 million users. The Instant Payment Network emphasised its commitment to transparency, ensuring users can view applicable fees before completing transactions.

Customers can access official support channels within the app for any inquiries regarding the new fee structure. This update aligns with the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) digital transformation vision, reinforcing InstaPay’s role as a leading platform for seamless and secure financial transactions.
