The volume of total investments in Egypt’s chemical industries sector reached US$100 billion, equivalent to 5,000 factories employing around 500,000 workers, a member of the executive committee said Monday.
Mahmoud Soliman stated that chemical industries sector seizes 25 percent of Egypt’s total non-petroleum exports.
Soliman made these remarks during a workshop held Monday by The Environmental Compliance Office at the Federation of Egypian Industies (ECO) under the auspices of ministries of industry, environment, and manpower.
Moreover, the European Union (EU) and US markets seize around 35 percent of Egyptian chemical exports, the official added.
