Israel air strike kills dozens at Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza

An Israeli airstrike hit Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of dozens of Palestinian civilians, following the international community’s failure to pressure Israel into agreeing to an immediate ceasefire.

The airstrike killed or injured about 400 people and most of them were children, as the final death toll has yet to be determined. According to the Palestinian Interior Ministry, residential buildings in the Jabalia camp were hit by six 2,000 lb bombs.

The Israeli attacks come after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls for a cease-fire and vowed to crush Hamas’s ability to govern Gaza or threaten Israel, according to a statement.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia condemned the “inhumane targeting by the Israeli occupation forces of the camp in the besieged Gaza Strip, which caused the death and injury of a large number of innocent civilians.”
