The daily death rates from the coronavirus have surged once again in Italy, after two days of smaller increases. The new rise suggests the worst may not yet be over for Italy.
On Tuesday, Italy reported 743 new deaths from the virus – the highest daily surge since Sunday, according to government data. On Wednesday morning, the embattled country confirmed a total of 6,820 deaths due to the pandemic.
On the other hand, the number of new confirmed cases of the flu-liked slowed down for a third consecutive day, said the Emergency Commissioner and Civil Protection’s chief Angelo Borrelli.
The total number of coronavirus infection in Italy stands at 69,176.
